Mze Vanasio Vance Akipiileng Omome, the former Prime Minister of the Iteso Cultural Union has passed on just a few month after his chaotic resignation.
The pronouncement was made by his daughter, Catherine Alungat confirming her father’s passing on in the night of Thursday February, 29, 2024, at Doctor’s Plaza in Soroti City.
While the details surrounding his death have not been disclosed, Andrew Ocole, the current Iteso Cultural Union Prime Minister, expressed his condolences as he described the late Omome as of an active mind who played a critical role formation of the ICU Constitution.
Omome was a founding member of the Iteso Cultural Union in 1995 and served as deputy Prime Minister under the past two regimes of Paprus Imodot Edimu (First Emorimor) and late Augastine Osuban Lemukol Adugala (second Emorimor).
In November 2023, Omome resigned from his position as Icu Prime Minister, citing leadership challenges and was succeeded by Andrew Ocole
