OPINION; In the bustling heart of Naguru Estate, where dreams were woven from the threads of sportsmanship and camaraderie, emerged a figure destined for greatness. James Ochaya, now poised as the Deputy Inspector General of Police, embodies the remarkable tale of divine elevation from obscurity to eminence, sans the nod of mortals.
Picture this: a vibrant morning in Serere, buzzing with anticipation, as news of presidential decrees reshaping the Uganda Police Leadership electrifies the air. Among the chosen, standing tall, is none other than James Ochaya, handpicked as the deputy to the new IGP, Byakagaba.
But Ochaya’s narrative isn’t one of silver spoons and privilege. Raised in the humble abode of Naguru’s J3, he navigated life’s labyrinth as an orphan under the watchful eye of a Shimoni TTC tutor. Yet, within Naguru’s embrace, amidst the echoes of boxing legends and sports royalty, Ochaya found his footing.

Our paths intertwine once more, as fate orchestrates a reunion in the corridors of power. Assigned to oversee the expulsion of Balolo herdsmen from Northern Uganda, Ochaya’s presence resonates with a divine symmetry, echoing the journey from Naguru’s alleys to the corridors of authority.
Amidst the revelry of a celebratory soirée, hosted in honor of a royal union, Ochaya’s camaraderie shines brightly. From a darling DPC in Mayuge district to the confidant of influential figures, his journey epitomizes the essence of service and dedication.
