Dr. Joseph Opul, a lecturer in the department of Education at Gulu University has called on the Teachers in Moroto and the entire Karamoja Sub – Region to continue upgrading their papers by enrolling for further studies.
This he said will help them to cope with the looming changes in the education department especially the adaptation of the implementation of new lower secondary curriculum previously enrolled by the Ministry of education and sports.
While addressing teachers at Moroto High School earlier this week, teachers stressed that the implementation of the new Lower secondary Curriculum remains a stiff challenge for them.
The teachers deprived limited access to trainings on the lower secondary curriculum and materials hence poor performance amongst learners.
“It is very critical that you the teachers quickly cope with the new lower Secondary curriculum in order to visibly crate impact to the learners’ performance, one of the key aspects is further studies, those with diplomas should highly upgrade and attain degrees and Masters”, he said.
Opul later addressed Thousands of Students at Moroto High Scholl where he appealed for better performance.
Peaking, S“Many of you will have access to the University if you display the character of discipline and hard work”, he said.
Dr. Joseph Opul is the Regional Director of Quality Education consultancy, also the Chief Executive officer of Opul Skilling Foundation Africa.
