Maracha District.
Maracha District LC5 Vice Chairperson, Hon Asea Bosco has declared his intention to contest for the position of Maracha District NRM Chairperson in the upcoming 23-5-2025 party structure elections.

Following the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Party release of the Roadmap for its internal party structure elections starting from the village level up to the CEC, Hon Asea Bosco who doubles as the DLC Councilor for Agaii Town Council to Maracha District Council, is so far the only person who has presented himself as the potential candidate to challenge and oust the incumbent District NRM Party Chairperson Mr Ofekua Gabriel.
During an interview with our reporter, Hon Asea Bosco stated that the NRM Party structure in Maracha District has lost direction and is not working in the core values and principles of the party constitution, structure, and party manifesto.
“Of recent, our NRM Party leadership in the district has not been putting efforts to unite the people and foster on the constitution and party manifesto”, he said while accusing some party officials in the district of prematurely selecting and running after aspiring Parliamentary and Local Government politicians before even NRM Party primary elections are done to identify NRM flag bearer who could then be fully supported by the party structure leadership as prescribed by the party’s constitution and principles.
To avert what is claimed to be ongoing bickering and quarrels amongst the Aspiring Parliamentary candidates in the district over alleged biases portrayed by NRM Party leadership, if elected on 23-5-2025, Hon Asea promised to close the communication gap and address such misunderstandings and quarrels amongst party cadres by organizing regular meetings between the Aspiring Politicians and NRM Party structure members.
He further pledged to advocate and lobby for resources for the Maracha District NRM party structure from the party Secretariat.

When asked how he will fight corruption in the party structure, if elected, Hon Asea Bosco who is also the leader of government business in Maracha District Council, vowed to fight corruption in the district party system by ensuring timely transparency and accountability is given to the public over any resources the party leadership at the district level may lobby from other stakeholders or the resources received from the party Secretariat.
Before being elected as a District councilor in 2016 and appointed as LC5 Vice Chairperson in 2021, Hon Asea Bosco served for 10 years in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Party structure at the grassroots and later he served as the Registrar for greater Oluvu Sub-county (currently split into Obiba Sub-county, Agaii Town Council and Oluvu Sub-county).
Stay tuned here as we shall be reporting to you extensive coverage of their campaigns and elections.
