The Maracha District Woman MP, Hon Driwaru Jennifer, on Wednesday, 26-2-2025, raised concern over the inadequate sensitization of the public/education stakeholders over the new teaching curriculum, which has been brought by the Ministry of Education and Sports.
Top to Bottom approach isn’t the best if the government is to achieve the target on the new curriculum, Hon Jennifer stated in the plenary as she pushes for holistic sensitization and involvement of the key stakeholders in the chain of Education sector.
While pointing out a situation during the 39th NRM Party Anniversary celebration in Maracha District, where the district NRM Chairperson Ofekua Gabriel gave poor lamps to Secondary Schools without electricity, Hon Driwaru Jennifer regretted the darkness hampering Secondary Schools and she appealed for the government to allocate 1 Billion Shs for Maracha District and also the same amount 1B Shs for all the districts in Uganda to aid electrification of schools.
The woman MP also made a point about the salary disparity between science and Art teachers, attributing it as a big problem affecting education in the entire country and she requested the government to address this gap.
