NGORA: 26.10.2024
The Ngora County MP, Hon. Juliet Achayo Lodou Ekellot, celebrated for her humility and effortless charm, has once again navigated high offices to secure essential resources for her community.
Known for her grounded yet effective approach, Achayo recently obtained 170 iron sheets from the Ministry of Teso Affairs through the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), intended to roof teachers’ residences at Apama, Okorom, and Omaditok primary schools.
Her commitment to Ngora’s development is evident in her relentless pursuit of support to address long-standing challenges, particularly in education.
Speaking to the community, Achayo expressed deep gratitude to the Ministry of Teso Affairs for its unwavering support toward Ngora’s educational needs, underscoring that these iron sheets would help alleviate housing burdens for teachers, an issue directly impacting educational quality.
In her address, Achayo encouraged locals to leverage the Parish Development Model (PDM) as a pathway out of poverty and to participate actively in the ongoing NIRA national ID registration, essential for eligibility in the 2026 elections.
She also echoed recent guidance from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, urging residents to refrain from using their national IDs as collateral with money lenders, a practice that risks financial entrapment.
The handover ceremony brought together key leaders who share Achayo’s vision, including the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), District Internal Security Officer (DiSO), Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), District Education Officer (DEO), LC3 representatives, school headmasters, members of the School Management Committee (SMC), and parents. The gathering reinforced a collective commitment to strengthening Ngora’s educational landscape, marking a vital step toward the “KOCAU NGORA” mission.
