Oyam Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Santa Alum Ogwang, has donated 80 pieces of iron sheets to Ayila Catholic Chapel, fulfilling her pledge to support the community. This donation is part of her manifesto to share resources with the community, particularly in supporting churches and mosques in Oyam.
Peter Odyek, Hon. Alum’s political assistant, delivered her message, emphasizing the importance of utilizing the donated iron sheets promptly. James Ogwal, LC3 Chairperson of Myene Sub County and Chairman of the Organizing Committee for St. Michael Catholic Chapel Ayila, expressed gratitude for the donation and appealed for additional support to complete the church, which requires over 15 million shillings.
Tobby Flowrence Okello, Catechist of St. Michael Ayila Catholic Chapel, appreciated Hon. Alum’s generosity, highlighting the challenges they face with rain disrupting their Sunday services. The community has benefited from Hon. Alum’s previous donations, including uniforms for servants of God, cement, iron sheets, and other building materials.
The Christians of Michael Catholic Chapel Ayila have pledged their support for Hon. Alum’s victory in the forthcoming 2026 general election, acknowledging her commitment to the community’s development.
