The Inspectorate of Government (IG) has ordered the dismissal of four public officials for using forged documents to secure government jobs and promotions. In Dokolo, Mr. Okello David Livingstone, the District Inspector of Schools, was found to have forged multiple documents, including an appointment letter and posting instructions. The IG’s findings revealed that these documents were fake and belonged to another person.
Similarly, in Bundibugyo District, two public servants, Mr. Charles Agaba and Ms. Ithungu Eve, were implicated in document falsification. Mr. Agaba submitted forged academic credentials, while Ms. Ithungu presented a forged Diploma in Public Administration. In Koboko Municipal Council, Mr. David Dimba Kenyi, the Principal Education Officer, was promoted based on a forged letter purportedly issued by the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB).
The IG emphasized that uttering forged documents constitutes gross misconduct, warranting dismissal. The respective authorities have been instructed to take immediate disciplinary action and report back on the measures implemented.
