General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the son of President Yoweri Museveni, has unleashed a scathing attack on National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, whom he refers to as “Kabobi”.
In a recent post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Muhoozi ominously warned Kabobi that the only reason he remains unscathed is due to the protection afforded to him by his father, President Museveni.
Muhoozi’s statement sparked a flurry of comments, including one from his close associate, Daudi Kabanda. Kabanda echoed Muhoozi’s sentiments, stating that Kabobi’s political fortunes had already been severely diminished, particularly after Muhoozi’s Masaka rally exposed his waning popularity in Buganda.
Kabanda’s comment seemed to suggest that Muhoozi’s actions had effectively “cut off Kabobi’s head” politically, implying that the NUP president’s influence had been significantly eroded.
Muhoozi’s remarks have raised eyebrows, with many interpreting them as a veiled threat against Kabobi. The General’s assertion that his father’s intervention is the only thing preventing him from taking more drastic action against Kabobi has sparked concerns about the safety and well-being of the NUP president.
In a subsequent development, Kyagulanyi responded to Muhoozi’s threats, urging the international community to take note of the situation. However, Muhoozi was quick to respond, saying that before he takes any action against Kyagulanyi, he wants him to repay a loan he was given. This latest exchange has further escalated tensions between the two.
The development has also highlighted the increasingly tense relationship between Muhoozi and Kabobi, with the former seemingly determined to undermine the latter’s political ambitions. As the situation continues to unfold, (link unavailable) will provide updates on any further developments.
