David Calvin Echodu, the Soroti City West NRM flag bearer and aspirant for NRM Vice Chairman Eastern Region, Has ignited the political scene with a sizzling visit to Bunyoro delegates in Kakumiro. Echodu, known for his hands-on leadership style and charismatic presence, left no doubt about his intentions to shake things up within the party.
“I’m a doer, not a talker,” Echodu declared, his words echoing through the NRM offices. “It’s time for action, not empty promises.” This bold statement sent uproar among the delegates, who are eager for change within the party.
Echodu emphasized the importance of adding new energy to the party, highlighting President Museveni’s continued leadership and vision for the country. “We need to inject new energy into our party structures, working tirelessly to serve the people and support President Museveni’s initiatives,” Echodu said. “By doing so, we’ll ensure that our party remains relevant and effective in addressing the needs of Ugandans.”
Area MP Josephert Tumwesigye welcomed Echodu with open arms, promising to support him in his bid for NRM Vice Chairman Eastern Region. “We need a leader who can deliver results, and Echodu is that person,” Tumwesigye said.
Ambassador Nelson Ocheger highlighted Echodu’s contributions to the party’s growth in Teso. “Echodu has been instrumental in growing the party in Teso,” Ocheger said. “He’s a true leader who gets things done.”
Echodu also emphasized the need for value addition to NRM structures, focusing on supporting and empowering grassroots mobilizers. “Our grassroots mobilizers are the backbone of our party,” Echodu said. “We need to empower them with the resources and support they need to effectively mobilize and engage our communities.”
One elderly woman, Arinaitwe Linda, shared her experience with the incumbent leader, who had promised the world but disappeared after getting herin vote. “I’ve never lost an election, and I’ve always supported the incumbent,” she said. “But this time, I’m supporting Echodu because I’ve heard a lot about him, and I’m impressed by his leadership skills. Despite being told he can’t speak, he’s proved them wrong, and we’re all witnesses to that.” She urged her fellow delegates to support Echodu, wishing him well in his bid.
The delegates, moved by Echodu’s vision and leadership, unanimously endorsed him as their Eastern Uganda candidate for NRM Vice Chairman. “We believe in Echodu’s ability to lead and deliver results,” they declared. “He’s the right person to take our party to the next level in Eastern Uganda.”
The Vice Chairperson of the Workers League, Kazura Gabriel, threw down the gauntlet, challenging Echodu to visit their area. “We’ve been neglected for too long,” Gabriel said. “It’s time for Echodu to show us some love.”
The Youth League also made their voices heard, requesting Echodu’s support for their leaders at the national level. “We need a leader who understands our struggles and will fight for our rights,” one youth leader said.
Echodu’s message resonated with the delegates, who are eager for change within the party. As Echodu’s campaign gains momentum, it’s clear that he’s a force to be reckoned with.
