A high-powered delegation led by David Calvin Echodu, aspirant for NRM Vice Chairman Eastern Region, paid a visit to Kibale, where they were warmly received by top officials and NRM delegates.
The Kibale RDC welcomed and expressed his admiration for Echodu’s credentials, saying, “When I researched about the man, I couldn’t hide my face from supporting him. Calvin is educated, learned, exposed, and humble.” He pledged to support Echodu’s bid, citing his commitment to President Museveni’s initiatives and so much more on humanity with much emphasis on community development.
The LC5 Chairperson’s assistant, Mr. Basereka, welcomed the delegation and pledged support, cautioning Echodu to prioritize the entire country, not just Eastern Uganda, once elected. “The seat you’re vying for is for the country, so don’t focus only on Eastern Uganda,” he advised.
The Kibale NRM District Chairman also welcomed the team, promising full support. “My team has already chosen to endorse Calvin; I alone can’t decide, but together, we’ll ensure his victory,” he said. Ambassador Nelson Ocheger highlighted Echodu’s contributions to the NRM party, saying, “Echodu has supported NRM financially from his early days till date; now it’s time for him to support Museveni in the CEC as the new energy.”
Echodu, in his address, emphasized his commitment to serving the people. “I’ll always check on you, even after I’m in power,” he promised. “I’m a doer, not a talker; it’s time for action, not empty promises.” He also called on grassroots mobilizers to join hands with their leaders, saying, “It’s time for our grassroots mobilizers to clearly and openly join hands and work hand in hand with their leaders.” Furthermore, he promised to work closely with President Museveni to empower the delegates, stating, “I’ll work closely with His Excellency to empower you in whichever way possible.”
The delegates unanimously endorsed Echodu’s bid, praising his leadership skills and vision for the party. As Echodu’s campaign gains momentum, it’s clear that he’s a force to be reckoned with in the NRM Vice Chairmanship race for Eastern Uganda.
Those who attended included the RDC, LC5 officials, NRM district officials, security personnel, and other dignitaries.
