Kotido, Uganda – November 13, 2024, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Achiria Godfrey, Regional Police Commander (RPC) for Kidepo Region, has convened a high-stakes stakeholders meeting at Kotido Court Hall today. The gathering brought together District Police Commanders, Officer-in-Charge, CID representatives and regional Heads of Department, setting the stage for President Yoweri Museveni’s impending visit.

President Museveni’s flagship Parish Development Model (PDM) program topped the agenda. Launched in February 2022, PDM aims to transform subsistence households into a money economy, promoting sustainable national development.
SSP Achiria underscored effective community policing models, efficient intelligence reporting and improved customer care initiatives. Discussions centered on enhancing collaboration between security personnel, community leaders and residents. Achiria emphasized leveraging community policing to prevent crime and promote public safety.
“The PDM program’s success hinges on collective responsibility,” SSP Achiria stressed. “We must work together to ensure a secure environment.” He directed stakeholders to intensify community policing efforts, foster cooperation with community leaders and provide timely security updates.
President Museveni’s visit assesses progress in government programs combating cattle rustling and promoting peace in Karamoja. SSP Achiria’s directives reflected the urgency of ensuring a secure environment.
The meeting demonstrated SSP Achiria’s commitment to enhancing security and community engagement.
As Kidepo Region prepares for President Museveni’s visit, stakeholders are poised to work collaboratively, driving sustainable development and peace.
