Hailing from Rukungiri Municipality and the proud daughter of Emmanuel Twinomwanya and Busingye Oliver, Kirabo Gift is stepping into the political arena as a candidate for the Woman MP seat in 2026. With a vision focused on real change and progress, Kirabo is determined to break away from the stagnant leadership that has left the people of Rukungiri with unmet promises and untapped potential.
For years, Rukungiri’s youth and women have been waiting for tangible results in areas like education, job creation, and healthcare. Despite years of leadership, the incumbent has failed to deliver solutions, leaving the community frustrated. Kirabo believes it’s time for a new approach—one rooted in action, not empty promises.
“Why are our young people still trapped in outdated systems that don’t prepare them for today’s workforce?” Kirabo asked, pointing to the lack of vocational training and apprenticeship opportunities. Unlike the current leadership, which has spoken much but done little, Kirabo is committed to equipping Rukungiri’s youth with the skills necessary to thrive in a modern, competitive job market.
Understanding the struggles of job creation and small business support firsthand, Kirabo sees the need for innovative solutions. “You can’t fix a broken economy with the same old ideas,” she asserts. Her plan is to empower young entrepreneurs and provide resources for startups, fostering an environment where financial independence and economic stability are achievable for all.
She also voiced her concerns about the state of healthcare in the region, noting, “People have heard countless promises about better healthcare, but the reality on the ground tells a different story.” Kirabo is committed to delivering practical healthcare solutions, addressing both mental and physical health needs, and providing improved facilities for the well-being of Rukungiri’s residents.
Kirabo is also passionate about giving young people a voice in governance. “For too long, the youth have been sidelined in decision-making,” she told the press. Her leadership promises to bring youth into the fold, ensuring their voices are heard and their ideas are part of the region’s future development.
She stated that the time for her official unveiling as a candidate will come soon, but for now, she is dropping herself into the political ring, ready to bring a wave of change. Her candidacy represents a generational shift and a fresh approach to leadership, offering Rukungiri the opportunity to move forward with innovative and inclusive policies.
In contrast to the incumbent’s stagnant approach, Kirabo brings youthful energy, fresh ideas, and a clear commitment to delivering on promises. As she steps forward, she is ready to lead Rukungiri into a new era of action and progress. The old guard has had its time—now, Rukungiri is ready for a dynamic and forward-thinking leader.
