LAMWO: Security in Lamwo District are holding a one Lampard Tabu and hunting for five others over alleged stage managing of their own abduction by the so called South Sudanese rebels.
The suspect in custody, together with five others still at large, according to security findings are said to have crossed to South Sudan between August and September to do commercial farming but they started calling local leaders including LC3s, LCV and MPs demanding for UGX over 800,000 for each as ransom in order to be released by the so called south Sudan rebels who they claim abducted them from Magwi County.
Upon learning of the concerns, the leadership of security in Lamwo, headed by the no nonsence RDC Osborn Oceng, took interest on the matter and they realised that the suspect together with his colleagues staged their abduction in order to extort money from the leaders for their personal benefits.
With support from the community, security on Monday evening apprehended Lampard Tabu, from Gai village, Paloga sub county following an intelligence led operation.
He is currently being held at Ngom-oromo UPDF Barracks as the investigation goes on.
Mr. Oceng told the public to distance and desist from such actions but rather get into money making ventures inorder to improve on house hold income.
“As security, we would like to warn and ask the community to desist from this kind of acts, I would also pray that the people of Lamwo join the queue of many Ugandans to boost household income by recieving the various government proggrams like Parish Development Model inorder to further their bussines and ideal plans,” said Oceng.
