Kalaki – From East to West and South to North, the political atmosphere for the incumbent Members of parliament is increasingly becoming thorny as the country heads to a new wave of political transition.
January 2026, remains the remarkably long awaited time for the country to measure the fate of the legislators and those interested in leadership.
In developing events, the Kalaki District Chairman Samuel Okello has put forward his chest against the Teso affairs Minister Dr. Clement Ongalo Obote in the coming race.
The two will be the bulls in the kraal grilling each other in the bid for the Kalaki county Member of parliament.
Speaking to this site representative in Kalaki District, Mr. Okello declared that he will be contesting for the Member of Parliament for Kalaki County in the 2026 elections.
“A lot of questions have been lingering around the electorates, asking whether I will be contesting for a member of Parliament, Yes I will be contesting to adequately serve the beloved people of Kalaki come 2026,” he said.
Adding, “My leadership shall thrive at cleaning up the road access, Agriculture, health, Education and fighting poverty.”
Okello has served as the Kalaki district Chairman right it’s inception in 2018.
His popularity rose after he was re-voted in 2021 where he garnered a total of 17,751 votes, heating his colleagues Emodu David independent who garnered 5,919, and Esegu Josepg Eitu Obongocan who became the third with 3,401 votes.
Okello shall face off Ongalo in the NRM primaries to be held between August and November 2025.
