St. Gracious Secondary School Leo Atubu Campus has once again solidified its position as one of the top-performing institutions in Northern Uganda in the 2024 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations. All 66 candidates who sat for the examinations excelled with flying colors, with most of them scoring grades A and B, the highest possible grading under the new curriculum.
Speaking at the school’s celebratory event, held on Wednesday, Jasper Okai, Headteacher of St. Gracious Secondary School Leo Atubu Campus, expressed immense pride and gratitude for the students’ outstanding performance. Okai attributed this remarkable achievement to several key factors, including quality teachers and a conducive school environment.
“We have invested heavily in training our teachers on the requirements of the new curriculum,” Okai stated. “If a teacher is competent, he or she produces competent students.”
Okai advised parents in Northern Uganda to consider enrolling their children in St. Gracious Secondary School Leo Atubu Campus for the 2025 academic year, citing the school’s commitment to providing affordable, quality education.
Okai also urged parents to take responsibility for their children’s education, emphasizing its importance in securing a better future.
According to Director Dr. Patrick Olet, the new competency-based curriculum uses letter grades instead of divisions. Olet described the results as an exceptionally good start for the new curriculum, noting that all students achieved Result One, with zero students in Result Two, Three, and Four.
School Principal Martin Ojok Anyuru explained that the school was designed to cater to parents of all income levels.
Brenda Ayiko, the top-performing student at St. Gracious Secondary School, attributed her success to her hard work and the efforts of her teachers.
Located 5 kilometers along Kitgum Road from Lira City, Leo Atubu Campus is situated in the Lango sub-region of Northern Uganda. Acquired 10 months ago, the school has experienced significant growth and improvement under its new management, led by Principal Martin Ojok Anyuru, Director Dr. Patrick Olet.
St. Gracious Secondary School Leo Atubu Campus’s outstanding performance is not a stroke of luck but rather the result of a well-planned and executed academic strategy.
