Mr Augustine Otuko the Private Secretary to the President in charge of Political Affairs has revealed to Katakwi Youth leaders,Boda boda riders and women that he is more prepared to tussle it out with Hon Ogwang Peter the State Minister of sports in the coming election. Otuko who came second in the 2021 elections was speaking to the youth, boda boda riders and women at his home in ariamareng, Aleles Parish Katakwi District. The youth had tasked otuko to explain to them his future plans considering the fact that there was too much speculation about his 2026 agenda.

“Please disregard all the roumers moving around about my future in politics. I am more than ready to uproot bad leadership in Ngariam County and Katakwi in the Next elction. For a long time we have been fooled and the people have got a bad deal completely”- otuko stated.

Otuko warned youth to avoid politicking all the time but rather advised them to use their productive time to engage in income generating activities. He said “a poor person is not valued in society. We should therefore strive to ensure that we have food to eat at home (food security) and then engage in the struggle to have money in our pockets. Food and income security is an individual responsibility that all of us should and must participate in.”

Meanwhile Otuko disclosed to the youth and women to demand for Accountability from Hon Ogwang for the money that was collected in a fundraising in Katakwi Dubbed, “Fundraising to support women Saccos ”. He stated that too much money was collected during the event but the amount collected was not disclosed to the gathering that day. He believes that close to 2 Billion shillings was collected and that now the Minister is distributing 3 Million shillings to every village. He noted that there are 250 registered Villages in Katakwi and that would mean that 750m will be distributed to the people. “What happens to the extra Moneys Collected?” – he wondered.

According to him Pro people leaders are transparent and accountable to the people. He tasked the youth to ask the Minister to produce the fundraising list so that everybody gets to know how much was collected.

Otuko also faulted the Minister for being part of the cartel that is scheming to make the people cry tears over the ongoing Mineral survey. “How can our MP be quiet when there is growing concern by the local people on the issue of the yellow planes hovering their skies without explanation?” He questioned

He stated that he had already contacted H.E Jessica Alupo, the Vice President and Hon Dr Okasai to send a team to Katakwi to explain the issue of Mineral survey to the local communities to avoid the continuous speculation by the locals against government.

Finally, he noted that the current challenges the people of Ngariam were facing were due to bad leadership and that the people should put to an end the question of bad leadership in the next election in 2026.
