KATAKWI: Magoro Comprehensive Secondary School Board of Governors is in trouble for forging Contract extension documents.
According to a letter obtained by this Website, the Ministry of Education has informed Hon Koluo Joseph Andrew, MP for Toroma County that the letter the board presented to the Ministry was a forgery. “We regret to inform you that the letter presented to that effect is a forgery. The Ministry is in the process of contacting Uganda Police to initiate investigations into this criminal act, so that the culprit(s) are identified and brought to book” Mr Akulo sam who signed on behalf of the Permanent Secretary Stated.
The Ministry of Education has apparently appointed Mr Olukuma John as the new Head Teacher for Magoro Comprehensive Secondary School with clear instructions to initiate the process of establishing a new board of Governors for the School in line with the Education (Board of Governors) Regulations for Education (Pre-Primary, Primary and Post Primary) Act 2008.
In the Meantime the Ministry has advised that the school will operate under the direct oversight of the District Education Officer and the foundation body, especially in regards to the implementation of the school annual work plan and budget, until a new Board in Place.
This Website has learnt that Hon Koluo Joseph raised the concern after colossal amounts of capitation grant are suspected to have been stolen from the school by the expired Board. Attempts to contact some of the Board of Governors were futile as non of them was picking our calls.
