The Choirs from 20 catholic chapels in Maracha vicariate have this week concluded days of music festival which attracted over hundreds of Christians, politicians and business fraternity.
The two days music festival included poems from all the 20 chapels which focused on drug abuse, child abuse and gender based violence.
Mr Amandu Onesmas Tokoson a member of Maracha vicariate music sub-committee representing Nyadri deanery said the music festivals are free without a reward to the winners.

A renowned businessman in West Nile region, Mr Obeta Moses Drakua who attended the entire session, is optimistic that, such music festivities can be source of tourist attraction if well planned and managed by the various stakeholders.
While appreciating the church for modeling the Youths through choir, Mr Obeta is hoping to see a music theater established in Maracha District.

The Chairperson for Maracha Vicariate Music sub-committee, Rev. Fr. Geoffrey Edami says music is one of the ways of praising the Almighty God, adding that, it’s through music when we grow in our faiths
He advised the Youths to desist from activities that can take them away from singing and praising God.

Maracha District woman MP Hon Driwaru Jennifer who is confident about the panel of adjudicators to announce the winners on merit, requested other members of the public and government officials to join Choirs regardless of whatever position one is holding.
The woman MP who has been supporting the Choirs through donation of monies and uniforms, urged the government to come into helping the Choirs as these musics can be a source of income.
