As Miss Tourism Teso 2024 takes shape for its grand finale themed “Tourism and Peace,” the Teso”s cluster is poised to unveil the diverse tourism potential of the sub-region through its annual pageantry as the up coming event aims to bolster tourism across the region.
While addressing the press at Cloud09 Soroti City on Saturday morning, Mr. Ogeuna Anis, Director of Iteso Tourism Company Limited and head of Miss Tourism Teso cluster, announced the imminent launch of theĀ  magazine dedicated to propelling Teso’s natural beauty and attractions to a global audience. Anis invited partners to advertise their businesses in the magazine and encouraged media participation in telling Teso’s tourism stories.
Anis highlighted that contestants will display their talents to the public on July 27th at Cloud 9, with free entry sponsored by partners. The grand finale is scheduled for August 3rd, 2024, at the same venue, featuring various activities. Entry to the finale is 20,000 UGX, with tables available for 300,000 UGX.
Marcella Ariso, program host for Miss Tourism Teso Roadmap 2024, emphasized the importance of the tourism-themed magazines, priced at 500,000 UGX for a full page, 250,000 UGX for half, and 150,000 UGX for a quarter, with customized rates for corporates. Ariso stressed the theme “Tourism and Peace,” underscoring the need for a peaceful environment to attract tourists and support local economies.
Amoding Enid Mercy, Programs Manager of Miss Tourism Teso cluster, noted the previous queens’ community projects, including youth empowerment initiatives and environmental conservation efforts such as tree planting.
Enid Mercy invited aspiring contestants to join the competition, currently accepting online auditions. The event will culminate in an online boot camp where contestants will showcase their cultural prowess.
Aguti Sheila Caroline, Manager of Cloud 9 and event partner, expressed excitement about hosting the grand finale, pledging to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all attendees.
Akol Emmanuel, representing Pepsi and another partner, shared enthusiasm for participating in this year’s grand finale and announced forthcoming contributions to the event.
These updates reflect the ongoing efforts of Miss Tourism Teso 2024 to promote tourism and celebrate the cultural richness of the Teso sub-region.
