Acom Esther Lucy, a certified public accountant with 14 years of experience, has officially picked nomination forms to contest for the Woman MP seat in Serere District. She aims to empower women, improve education and healthcare, and drive economic growth in the district. Acom stated, “It’s time for new commitments, not the old, for it’s the new brooms that know how to sweep well.”
She believes the people of Serere have been marginalized and financially malnourished due to poor leadership.
Acom promises to educate locals on saving and entrepreneurship, rather than just placing money in savings groups. “It’s not just about placing money in Saccos or village saving groups, but educating the locals to understand what saving is and how to get into entrepreneurship,” she explained. Acom is contesting against the incumbent minister, citing the need for change.
“The Minister has done her part, and it’s failed,” she said. With her sights set on the 2026 elections, Acom is determined to make a lasting impact on the people of Serere. Her message of hope and renewal resonates with the district’s residents, who are eager for change.
