President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has urged National Resistance Movement (NRM) leaders and supporters to participate in the voter verification exercise ahead of the 2026 General Elections. In a statement, Museveni emphasized the importance of verifying and updating voter registers from January 20 to February 10, 2025.
Museveni encouraged NRM leaders and supporters to check their names on the voter register, ensure deceased individuals are removed, and register new voters, particularly young people who have turned 18. This exercise aims to ensure the integrity of the electoral process and include eligible voters across the country .
The verification process will display registered voters’ names at every polling station, allowing citizens to confirm their registration details. Museveni’s call to action demonstrates the NRM’s commitment to transparency and accountability in the electoral process.
By participating in the voter verification exercise, Ugandans can help ensure a credible and fair electoral process in 2026.
