MASAKA: The NRM Deputy Secretary General Hon Rose Namayanja Nsereko has asked the Party members to interest themselves in knowing the progress on all government programs in their respective areas.
Namayanja has also directed the Chief Administrative Officers (CAOs) across the country to always release such information to the NRM leadership and the public. She was on Sunday addressing over 300 party leaders from the ten districts of Greater Masaka. The meeting attended by DEC members and Sub County NRM chairpersons among others was held at Masaka Royal Gardens Hotel within Masaka City.
The RDCs were tasked to work closely with the CAOs to ensure that the required information is released on time. The information should cover different sectors that include health, education, roads, water, PDM and Emiyooga among others. The Deputy SG’s remarks followed complaints from party members expressing difficulty in accessing the needed information from the district technical staffs headed by the CAOs. “The offices of the RDCs should be a one stop centre for all government related information”, Namayanja stressed. She added, “On receipt of such details, copies should be circulated downwards to the Administrative Secretaries in all NRM offices.
Members observed that lack of information had made some people hate the government and talking ill of the ruling party.
The meeting was also attended and addressed by Hon Godfrey Kiwanda (CEC Member, Central Region), Hon Rosemary Seninde (the Director in charge of Mobilisation at the NRM Secretariat) and the Senior Manager in charge of Information NRM National Secretariat.
