In a letter dated 8th August 2023, the FDC party president Patrick Amuriat Oboi directed the head of disciplinary committee Mr. James Otto who is the Lc.5 chairman for Dokolo district to take immediate action on the Kampala city’s Erias Lukwago, the former party spokesperson Ibrahim Ssemuju Nganda amongst other frogs claimed to be spoiling the water.

Those listed in the letter include the Lord Mayor Kampala also the Acting deputy president Erias Lukwago, the acting deputy secretary for presidency Kennedy Obelo, the acting deputy secretary for mobilization Dr. George Obeli and the deputy for information and religious affairs Samuel Mabhoba.

Others to face the wroth include Mubarak Munyangwa currently the secretary for mobilization and Amon Ayesiga Rubarema, the secretary for works and transport.

Amuriat has named the replacement of those party leaders listed in the disciplinary lineup.

“You may need to note that with exception of Hon. Ibrahim Ssemuju Nganda and Mr. Amon Ayesigigome who were elected by the national delegates conference, all the above members were appointed by me on acting basis”, the letter quotes.

This directive follows the decision by the secretary General Nandala Mafabi to fire Ibrahim Ssemuju Nganda from the position of the FDC whip in parliament as per the letter dated 6th Aug 2023 written to the Speaker Annet Anita Among.

Ssemuju responded by ravishing his president Patrick Amuriat Oboi and the secretary general Nandala Mafabi saying that removing him from the position of the FDC whip does not change anything neither remove him from parliament as a Member of Parliament.

“it is useless for Nandala and Amuriat to dismiss me from the position of party whip and idont see anything special with being a whip.  Amuriat has been so incompetent and may be being removed from being the FDC whip shall now make him a competent party president”, he responded.
