In a ceremony presided over by Archbishop Samuel Stephen Kazimba Mugalu, Rt. Rev. Alfred Muhoozi was enthroned as the 3rd Bishop of North Ankole diocese. The event, graced by dignitaries including Vice President Jessica Alupo, witnessed a heartening message from President Yoweri Museveni, who not only congratulated the new bishop but also presented him with a brand-new car for his pastoral duties.
President Museveni’s words resonated with the solemnity of the occasion, praising the outgoing Bishop Stephen Namanya and encouraging Bishop Muhoozi to lead with wisdom and devotion. This consecration, Museveni emphasized, is not just a ceremony but a divine calling to shepherd God’s flock with selflessness and wisdom.
The president’s address underscored the pivotal role of religious leaders in shaping society, urging Bishop Muhoozi to preach love, unity, and service to uplift communities. Museveni’s call for churches to be agents of positive change echoed throughout the ceremony, highlighting their significance beyond evangelism.
Vice President Alupo echoed these sentiments, calling upon the people of North Ankole diocese to support their new bishop and prioritize unity, peace, and development.
As Bishop Muhoozi accepted his new role, Archbishop Kazimba urged Christians to collaborate in advancing the diocese’s growth.
With the promise of government support for peace and development, and the fervor of faith driving them, North Ankole diocese embarks on a new chapter under the leadership of Bishop Alfred Muhoozi, embracing unity and progress hand in hand.
