Kampala, Uganda – The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission has announced the postponement of elections for Special Interest Group (SIG) Committee flag bearers at the village level. The elections, initially scheduled to begin on May 19, 2025, will now commence on May 29, 2025.
In a statement signed by Dr. Tanga Odoi, the Commission attributed the postponement to circumstances beyond its control. The affected groups include Youth, Older Persons, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) committees.
The Commission has called upon all interested aspirants and stakeholders to take note of the adjustment in the electoral roadmap and plan accordingly. This development is expected to give participants sufficient time to prepare for the rescheduled elections.
The NRM Electoral Commission’s decision aims to ensure a smooth and transparent electoral process for the SIG committees at the village level.
