The meeting of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) regional whips has kicked off in Mbale City, eastern Uganda.
The gathering brings together regional Whips from the Parliament of Uganda, area NRM MPs, local council and other regional leaders from Eastern Uganda.
The meeting is being facilitated by the Director in the Office of the Government Business in Parliament, Ranny Ismail.
Inline with one of the outputs of the office of government chief whip, the workshop is organized to improve efficiency and effective delivery of government programs.
The workshop main objectives include monitoring government programs in the region and asses challenges hindering fulfilment of the NRM Manifesto. The platform will also be used to enhance capacity of regional whips in executing their duties.
The three day meeting started today and will end on Wednesday.
The same program will be rolled out in other regions country wide.
Earlier today, Fred Enanga while speaking to the press during a weekly briefing dismissed claims that police had summoned MPs and some staff at Parliament on allegations of corruption.
