David Calvin Echodu, NRM Vice Chairperson for the Eastern Region, has praised President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s initiative to establish regional youth skills hub centers. During his remarks at President Museveni’s campaigns in Amuria and Katakwi districts on Saturday, Echodu stated that the skills hub centers have been instrumental in equipping youth with skills, thereby enabling them to sustain their livelihoods.

“We thank you, Mr. President, for empowering the youth through this initiative,” Echodu said. “Many young people were becoming rebellious in our communities due to poverty, but thanks to the skills training, they now have a brighter future.”
Echodu also reminded the President of the need to upgrade Orungo Health Center III to Health Center IV, citing the need for improved healthcare services in the area. In his concluding remarks, Echodu assured the President of overwhelming support in Amuria and Katakwi districts in the upcoming general elections.

In response, President Museveni pledged to continue improving social services in Amuria district, citing progress made in education, including the construction of 68 primary government schools and eight seed secondary schools. He also promised to upgrade Abiya, Amolo, and other health center IIs to health center IIIs, and Wera Health Center III to Health Center IV.
