Kaberamaido District. The Aspiring candidate for Ochero county Mr. Francis Okullo has handed over 100 Iron Sheets to Okile Seed Secondary School. According to acting headteacher of Okile Seed Secondary School Mr Fred Ebesu said that Okile Seed Secondary School started last year 2024 on 5 Feb 2024 with the enrollment of 32 students and has 14 staff and started from S.1-S.2. He added that in the year 2025 the enrollment has increased to 74 students and it has moved from S.1-S.3 this year.
He then outlined the challenges which are affecting the school: Inadequate facilities and structures for the students, staffing – they have only 14 and the school has no store, laboratory, no proper classrooms for the students, no staff room, classroom block. Their teachers are not on the government payroll; they are getting only allowances and upkeep for themselves. Parents are not paying school fees in time, and others are not paying school fees.
According to the chairperson Local Council 2 of Ogak parish Ms Arebo Hellen thanked Mr Okullo for his support towards the school and as parents of the school, they are very happy because the current leaders have failed to support Okile Seed Secondary School with the structures and futures, and what he has done today is grateful and will be remembered, and she prays that let God open the Door of leadership and bless his hands.
According to the Sub county Chairperson for Okile sub county thanked the Aspiring candidate for Ochero county Mr Francis Okullo for his support since the school started, no one has come to support the school like the way Okullo has done, and these are the leaders we need to vote for when the time comes. He requested the voters of Ochero and Okile sub county to vote for leaders who deliver services to his people.
According to Francis Okullo, Aspiring candidate for Ochero county, broke into tears after seeing the structures where students are studying from, and he cautioned the voters to elect leaders who can deliver services to the community members and also blamed the current leaders of Kaberamaido for not doing enough through lobbying for our people. He then promised to add more support to the school before he goes to Parliament when voted in coming NRM party primaries which are scheduled for July this year.
