The fulfilment of Patrick Ogwang Obura’s pledge to construct a public toilet at Iwang IKee Trading Centre in Kamdini Town Council has commenced. This initiative aims to address the pressing sanitation needs of the community and improve public health in Tenam Cell, Western Ward, Kamdini Town Council.
Patrick Ogwang Obura, a resident of Amenya Cell and an MP aspirant for Oyam South, made this commitment in response to the growing sanitation crisis in the area. The construction of this public toilet is expected to bring significant benefits to residents and traders by providing a safe and hygienic facility.
Alfred Ocen, the LC1 Chairman of Tenam Cell where the facility is being constructed, expressed optimism about the project’s impact. He highlighted that this development would serve as a vital solution to the community’s sanitation challenges, enhancing public health and well-being.
Local leaders, residents, and members of the business community, including James Otwal, have also expressed their gratitude for this initiative. They emphasized the importance of improved sanitation facilities in preventing disease outbreaks and fostering a healthier environment.
Steven Ojok, an engineer contracted for the project, stated that the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) estimates the total cost of construction at over three million shillings. He assured the community that the facility is expected to be completed within one week.
In a message delivered by Alex Okec, one of his political assistants, Ogwang Obura reassured the community that all necessary materials and funding are in place to ensure the timely completion of the project. He urged the community to remain patient as construction progresses.
Ogwang Obura further pledged to fulfill his commitments promptly to maintain public trust and counteract political propaganda spread by rivals. He emphasized his dedication to delivering on promises to address critical community needs and improve the lives of the people in Oyam South.
