Incoming MP Ogwang Obura took the initiative to promote road safety in Minakulu Subcounty. He organized a training session for Boda Boda riders, in collaboration with the Uganda Police, to educate them on safe road usage and accident prevention.
The event, held at Mitacoo Trading Center, was well-received by the riders, who expressed their gratitude and promised to support Obura’s campaign. The Uganda Police, represented by Traffic Afande Ocen Brian and Ms. Achola Stella, provided valuable guidance and expertise.
Through his representative, Okello Geoffrey Tadeo Okello, Obura requested Boda Boda riders from Myene, Kamdini, Loro, and Aber to prepare for the upcoming program. This proactive approach demonstrates Obura’s commitment to the welfare of his constituents and his dedication to promoting road safety in the community.
Odongo Alfred , noted that he learned two valuable lessons from the training session. “Being aware of one’s surroundings while riding is crucial in preventing accidents, and following traffic rules and regulations can significantly reduce the risk of accidents and fatalities,” he said.
Another resident, Denis Odur, praised the initiative, saying it was a step in the right direction towards promoting road safety in the community.
