The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) dispatched a shipment of food relief to Nabilatuk Town Council in Nabilatuk District. The initiative aims to aid 100 households impacted by hailstorms resulting from heavy rains.
The delivery responds to a plea from the district authorities to the OPM for assistance to those affected, who have suffered loss of property and food, rendering them in dire need.
The food consignment comprises 20,000 kilograms of maize flour and 10,000 kilograms of beans.
According to Nabilatuk Town Council Clerk, Hillary Topos, the food distribution will specifically target previously identified and registered affected households.
Beneficiaries are selected from all five wards of Nabilatuk Town Council, namely: Lolet ward, Central ward, Natoopojo ward, Arengesiep, and Naupala wards.
Topos highlighted that the distribution of food items is scheduled for Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
Priority, as communicated by the OPM, will be accorded to the vulnerable segments of the population, including households led by widows, child-headed families, individuals with illnesses, persons with disabilities, and those living with HIV/AIDS.
