Pakwach — The Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Eseru Paul, alongside the Assistant RDC, Fionah Atimango, today returned UGX 1,334,000 to 58 Parish Development Model (PDM) beneficiaries of Pakia Parish in Panyango Sub County. This amount had been extorted by the local Sacco leadership but was successfully recovered with the assistance of the police.
At the event, the RDC emphasized the importance of proper fund utilization. “We urge the PDM beneficiaries to be very careful not to misuse these funds but rather to utilize them according to their approved business plans,” said Eseru Paul.
Known as the “small body but big engine” RDC, Eseru Paul and his team have dedicated part of their office time to curbing the extortion of money from locals, ensuring that community funds are used appropriately.
The ceremony was attended by key local leaders, including the LC3 Chairman, the Officer in Charge (OC) of Panyango Police Post, the Parish Chief, and Sacco leaders. Their presence underscored the community’s commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability in the implementation of the PDM.
The recovery and return of these funds highlight the district’s dedication to fighting corruption and supporting the economic development of its residents. The Pakwach District leadership continues to monitor and support the proper utilization of PDM funds to improve livelihoods and promote sustainable development in the region.
