Patrick Ogwang Obura, a seasoned politician and advocate for Oyam South, is set to contest for the Member of Parliament seat in the 2026-2031 legislative session. With a strong background in grassroots mobilization and community welfare, Obura aims to effectively represent his constituents in Uganda’s Parliament.
In a recent interview, Obura outlined his plans for mobilization and his determination to secure his seat despite past electoral challenges. He highlighted his resilience, noting, “Come rain or shine, this time the people of Oyam South know what happened to me in 2017-2026 when my votes were hijacked.” He emphasized his ongoing efforts to improve local infrastructure, including repairing boreholes, installing culverts, and upgrading road networks in various sub-counties and town councils.
Additionally, Obura, in partnership with Pioneer Evangelist, is actively involved in community projects such as sinking a borehole for Aweibwote Village in Myene Subcounty and repairing a damaged borehole at Dogoitolo Village in Aber Subcounty.
Obura’s legislative agenda focuses on key areas including enhancing access to quality education and healthcare, promoting economic empowerment and entrepreneurship, improving infrastructure development, and advocating for social justice and human rights. He is committed to making a significant impact in Parliament, ensuring that the voices of Oyam South are heard clearly and effectively.
By addressing these critical issues and working closely with the community, Ogwang Obura is positioning himself as a strong candidate dedicated to the advancement and welfare of Oyam South.
