DAKABELA- Mr Peter Edeku Edopu NRM aspirant and front runner for Dakabela Constituency 2026 was overwhelming welcomed, endorsed and adopted as their own by the women, leaders and community of Agigirioi Parish Arapai sub county. This was during a launch of Agigirioi Women Group at Okunguro village. The women and community asked Mr. Peter Edeku to remember them when they take him to parliament.
Ms Joyce Amongin, the chairperson of the group asked Peter Edeku to go and work for the people if Dakabela and not for his stomach like the current crop of leaders whom they voted and have abandoned them.
Mrs Ejiku the speaker of the group said the women sat and zeroed down Mr. Edeku because of his record of empowering women and he has become part of them. She said many candidates tried them but they are firm with Mr Peter Edeku.
Pastor Ekeu of PAG acknowledged Edeku has a good record of working for Dakabela like he is in leadership that has bridged the big gap left by years of neglect. Mr Ejiku the Parish coordinator says he is pleasantly overwhelmed by the number of people from Agigirioi who have volunteered to mobilise for the edeku campaign. He appealed to others to come on board as there is room for everyone. Many more people joined the team.
Mr Moses Eriau who chaired and managed the campaigns of the area MP Hon Cosmas Elotu apologized to the people of Agigirioi for being let down by the MP whom they had convinced them to vote. He said him and the VRs are equally frustrated as the MP has shunned and disappeared from them since the last election. He requested the people to give Edeku a chance as he has already showed leadership and brought unity to Dakabela. He asked them to shun tribal divisions that has caused us in the past.
Hon Emugu Eroju told the people that Edeku deserves a chance because he has Amarin (things done) that everyone can see.
Simon Peter Ogwang, coordinator of Edeku’s campaign in Tubur sub county said that he was very happy with what he has seen in Okunguro. He he said Edeku’s work has endeared him to people of Tubur who now see him as their MP since they were abandoned by the one they elected. He said that edeku is a uniter and not a divider who has brought pride to Dakabela.
Addessing the over 1 thousand audience Mr. Edeku Edopu assured the women and people of Agigirioi that his agenda is people driven and Dakabela will be model Constituency. He said his record already speaks for itself. What he wants is the mandate to work for them, which he was assured of getting. Supported the women group, Okunguro tabu group and the community with over 5 million shillings. This brings a total of over 8 million shillings that Mr edeku has supported women and people of Agigirioi in the last 2 weeks. He similarly supported women and community of Agaya village in with about 3million shillings last week.
With these community empowerment programs the people of Agigirioi have assured Mr Edeku of a block vote.
The meeting was attended by all NRM chairpersons and mobilizers who pledged to support Edeku as their next MP.
