Amolatar– Police are investigating an aggravated robbery that occurred on the night of July 20, 2024, along the Amolatar-Acengryeny Road. The victim, 34-year-old Kenyan businessman Ogar Emmanuel, was visiting his friend Okello David in Amolatar District when the incident took place.
Emmanuel and Okello were traveling on a Bajaj motorcycle (registration number UFF 166B) from Amolatar Town to Okello’s home village when they were ambushed near Acengryeny by three knife-wielding assailants. The attack is believed to have been planned with the help of Okello and an unidentified boda boda rider.
Emmanuel was robbed of his personal belongings, including 3.5 million UGX. The assailants injected a poisonous substance into his arm and forced him to consume an unknown liquid, causing him to lose consciousness. He was left in a nearby bush, where he regained consciousness around 0200 hours.
After waking, Emmanuel managed to reach the Amolatar Central Police Station to report the incident. He was referred to Amolatar Health Center IV for medical treatment and is currently receiving care. The case, filed under CRB 279/2024, has been classified as aggravated robbery.
The police have taken Emmanuel’s statement and are investigating the crime scene. However, due to the victim’s inability to pinpoint the exact location, finding evidence has been challenging, and no arrests have been made. Okello David is considered the prime suspect.
The Amolatar District Police Commander is appealing to the public for any information on Okello’s whereabouts that could assist in his arrest and the ongoing investigation.
