Simon Ayela, the LC3 chairperson of Minakulu Sub-county, urged locals to remain vigilant as crime rates escalate, attributing gun thefts and other crimes to neighboring districts, which complicates the security situation in Minakulu and Oyam District at large.
In a telephone interview with this site , Odong Francis Opiyo, the officer in charge of operations at Oyam Central Police Station, confirmed that three suspects are in custody and one gun has been recovered. He appealed to security companies to work closely with police officers to address rampant gun thefts, often caused by negligence on the part of security guards.
