Kampala, Uganda – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is set to embark on a three-day tour of the Karamoja Sub Region, starting December 3rd, 2024. The primary objective of this visit is to assess the progress of the Parish Development Model (PDM) in the region.
According to a press statement from the Department of Press, Public Relations and Communications, President Museveni will engage with various stakeholders, including local leaders, technical staff, and beneficiaries of the PDM. He will also address a mega public rally in Kotido District, where he is expected to share his vision for the region’s development and encourage the community to actively participate in the PDM.
The Parish Development Model is a key component of the government’s strategy to transform Uganda into a middle-income economy. The model aims to empower local communities by providing them with the necessary resources and support to drive their own development.
President Museveni’s visit to Karamoja is a clear indication of his commitment to ensuring the successful implementation of the PDM across the country. His previous visits to Teso and Bukedi Sub Regions have shown promising results, and it is expected that this tour will yield similar outcomes.
The President’s tour is scheduled to take place from December 3rd to 5th, 2024. During this period, he will engage with the community, assess the progress of the PDM, and provide guidance on how to overcome any challenges that may arise during the implementation of the model.
