KASSANDA:The Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda Rt Hon Nabbanja Robinah has rallied political leaders and technical officers in Kassanda district to mobilize masses for Agricultural production and productivity as a means of boosting household income.
This is part of the mobilisation drive for the forthcoming nationwide campaign to increase agriculture production, productivity and profitability.
This campaign to be conducted in conjunction with MAAIF and other government agencies will start next week in Mityana, Kassanda,Mubende,Kyankwanzi and Kiboga districts. It will include agricultural expos and knowledge sharing sessions as well as health camps.
It is designed to facilitate the implementation of H.E President Museveni’s six policy proposals to develop the agricultural sector.
The President’s proposals include production, multiplication, distribution and certification of seeds and stocking materials; disease control; agricultural mechanisation and irrigation; farmer education and mobilisation; partnerships with big land owners and interventions in the fisheries sector.
