The Prime Minister of Uganda, Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, officiated the official opening of the transformational leadership course at the National Leadership Training Institute (NALI) in Kyankwanzi on Saturday. Upon her arrival, the Premier was warmly received by the Minister of State for Defence in charge of Veteran Affairs, Hon. Huda Abason Oleru, the Minister of State for Bunyoro Affairs, Hon. Jenipher Namuyangu Kacha, along with a cross-section of Members of Parliament.
During the event, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the participants serving as role models and being exemplary in delivering effective public services. The course, which runs for 11 days, is expected to conclude on Saturday, 7th September 2024. It is organized by the Office of the Prime Minister in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government and the Patriotism Secretariat.
The course has drawn over 1,000 leaders from ten districts who are currently camped at the National Leadership Training Institute and Oliva Tambo Training School in Kaweweta. The training is held under the theme “Enhancing Leaders’ Capacities in Monitoring Government Programmes to Improve Service Delivery.”
The participants include Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), LC5 Chairpersons, members of District Executive Committees, District Councillors, special interest group leaders, NRM, and LC3 Subcounty Chairpersons. These leaders hail from the districts of Yumbe, Kalungu, Gomba, Kibuku, Kibaale, Masaka, Mbarara, Kiboga, Nakasongola, and Mbarara City.
