The Soroti celebrated construction magnet, Francis Esudu Obwonyo, born in 1978, has formally declared his candidacy for the Soroti City Mayoral seat, presenting a baroque
blueprint aimed at ameliorating critical issues in land management, healthcare, and education.
His bid is underpinned by an extensive background and unwavering commitment to community enhancement.
Esudu’s education commenced at Aparisa Primary School in Tubur Sub-county, Soroti District, subsequently transitioning to Soroti Demonstration Primary School, where he consummated his primary education.
His secondary education journey began at Teso College Aloet in 1993, continuing at Wairaka College for his Senior 3 and O-level completion in 1996. He then advanced to Tororo College for his A-level in 1997, culminating in the attainment of a Diploma in Engineering from Uganda Technical College (UTC) Masaka.
Currently immersed in the construction business, Esudu utilizes his technical acumen to envisage a metamorphosed Soroti City. His stratagem encompasses significant enhancements in land management, healthcare services, and educational infrastructure.
In the realm of land management, Esudu advocates for the incorporation of landlords into the municipal planning paradigm, thereby ensuring their vested interests are judiciously represented.
His vision includes the augmentation of road infrastructure to bolster accessibility and escalate land value, thereby catalyzing economic proliferation.
In the healthcare sector, Esudu aspires to elevate local health centers from level 2 to level 4, thereby heightening the provision of medical services to the populace.

Joshua Edogu (FDC) accrued 6,964 votes, George Michael Egunyu (NRM) garnered 6,788 votes, Ojur Peter (Independent) obtained 3,757 votes, Esudu Francis Obwonyo (Independent) secured 2,829 votes, Ejoku Elias (NUP) received 383 votes, Pascal Amuriat (UPC) amassed 311 votes, and Ebitu Lambert (DP) achieved 293 votes.
