Amolatar– The North Kyoga Police are investigating a matter where a sum of Ushs. 27,000,000 was robbed from a shop by armed robbers in Amolatar town council.
Police spokesperson North Kyoga SP Patrick Jimmy Okema disclosed these in a press statement that the robbery took place on Thursday evening in Amolatra district where unidentified assailants raided the shop and fled with Millions of shillings.
“The territorial commander in Amolatar district is closely following a case of aggravated robbery following a complaint filed by one Olal Tobby, a 41 year old businesses man and resident of Bei wei village Namija Parish, Agwingiri sub county in Amolatar District that he was robbed of 27 Million shillings by unknown gunmen.” Patrick said
The gunmen also shot and injured a one Alele Francis a 22 year old shop attendant on September 7,2023 at around 9:00am at Abako Atidi trading center.
It is alleged that Olal Tobby was selling in his wholesale shop at Abako Atidi trading center when three unknown men came on an unidentified TVS motorcycle parked near his shop dressed in jackets.
“They pretended to buy some shop items as one of them asked for soda, while another asked for a bag of sugar for camouflage to confuse me, I was put at gunpoint and ordered to lie down as the other man went to another room where the shop attendant Alele Francis was sitting.”Tobby said
He added that one of them entered straight inside the bedroom and allegedly picked some money from the bucket which was under the bed and the drawer of the counter.
It is also further reported that Alele Francis the shop attendant tried to make an alarm and struggled over the money, that’s where he got shot and injured on the left side of upper thigh buttock.
A case of robbery and attempted murder has been registered at Amolatar Central Police station and the scene of crime was visited by the team of police officers led by the District police Commander.
The scene was examined and documented by SOCO, statements where recorded from relevant witnesses at the scene while an exhibit (cartridge ) was recovered from the scene.
The victim, Alele Francis,was rushed to Amolatar Health Center IV for treatment.
“The suspects are still at large However efforts to apprehend them are ongoing,” SP Okema said.
