The police of Soroti Central Police station are investigating an incident where a mentally ill person with physical disability was allegedly sodomized by one Opolot Micheal, a 20 year resident of town talks within Soroti city that occurred wee hours of Wedesday 16 August, during Gen. Muhoozi’s concert at Soroti City sports ground .
Preliminary findings into the incident indicate that on Wednesday at around Mid – night, the suspect was found having canal knowledge of a 49 year male adult with physical infirmities and of unsound mind at Soroti City sports ground where a concert was organized.
They were promptly arrested and taken to Soroti Central Police Station where a case of unnatural offense vide CRB 187/2023 of Soroti CPS was opened.
The police have recorded a statement from the accused person and talked to the victim who has been examined by medical doctors as a tool to confirm the incident and act as evidence for prosecution in courts of Judicature.

“We want to warn the public that sex between members of the same sex is an offense against the laws of Uganda to with the Anti Homosexuality Act and further inform them that acts against public decency such sex in public places, and nakedness carried out personally or in concert with others carry penal sanction”.
Meanwhile the Victim was subjected to PF3 medical taste and later rushed to Soroti Regional Referral Hospital for a quick medical attention police confirmed.
