Soroti, Uganda – In a proactive move to address concerns raised by beneficiaries, the Resident City Commissioner (RCC) of Soroti, Peter Pex Paak, yesterday presided over a Baraza meeting for the Moruapesur PDM group. The meeting, held on September 12, 2024, aimed to iron out issues surrounding the list of beneficiaries and ensure transparency and accountability in the distribution of PDM funds.
Deputy RCC Ayipo Clare and Assistant RCC Omoding Steven accompanied RCC Paak to the meeting, which brought together beneficiaries, local leaders, and other stakeholders. The meeting provided a platform for beneficiaries to raise their concerns and seek clarification on the issues surrounding the list.
After a thorough review of the complaints and clarification on the issues raised, the RCC gave the green light for the beneficiaries to access the PDM funds. This move is expected to bring relief to the beneficiaries who had expressed concerns over the list, and demonstrates the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in the distribution of PDM funds.
The RCC’s intervention is a testament to the government’s dedication to ensuring that the PDM program benefits the intended recipients. By addressing the concerns of beneficiaries and ensuring transparency in the distribution of funds, the government aims to promote trust and confidence in the program.
The meeting also served as an opportunity for the RCC to reiterate the government’s commitment to fighting poverty and promoting economic development at the grassroots level. The PDM program is a key initiative aimed at achieving this goal, and the RCC’s intervention ensures that it remains on track.
