Soroti District is gearing up to host the International Youth Day Celebrations on August 12th, 2024, at Soroti Core Primary Teachers College (PTC). Jacob Eyeru, the chairman of the National Youth Council, confirmed that all preparations are on track, and the district is ready to welcome the President and all attendees from across the country.
“We are thrilled to host this year’s National Youth Celebration in Soroti,” Eyeru stated. “The community has shown incredible support, and we are working diligently to ensure that the event is memorable and impactful for all participants.”
The celebration promises to be a colorful event, showcasing the vibrancy and dynamism of Ugandan youth. It will feature a variety of activities, including cultural performances, exhibitions, and discussions focused on youth empowerment and development.
Eyeru highlighted the significance of this event, noting that it provides a platform for young people to voice their aspirations, share their talents, and engage in meaningful dialogue with policymakers and other stakeholders. “Our goal is to inspire and mobilize the youth to take active roles in their communities and the nation at large,” he added.
The guest of honor will be His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, whose presence underscores the importance of youth in Uganda’s future. With Soroti’s readiness and enthusiasm, the 2024 International Youth Day Celebration is set to be an unforgettable occasion, celebrating the energy and potential of Uganda’s youth.
