Soroti: As Ateker Re -Union festival takes its final shape, several African guests have already stepped in Soroti City for the front seats in the carnival.
The Toposa tribe from South Sudan who identify themselves amongst the Ateker group of people have made an advance entourage to Emorimor’s premise in Soroti.
Stephen Ojacor the Deputy Information Minister at the Cultural institution confirmed it to this website.
“We have already received about one hundred brothers and sisters from South Sudan who will be part of the Ateker Re- Union festival, we also received colleagues from Ethiopia on Friday last week and we are still receiving more guests expected.” he mentioned.
At least five African presidents are expected to grace the event that seeks to bring the Ateker community world wide.
Recently, government released a sum of shs. 2.3 billion towards the event.
Andrew Ocole the Prime Minister in the Iteso Cultural Union cabinet pronounced that they are 100 percent ready to kick off with the event.
At least twenty thousand people are expected to attend the event.
