Bishop Eciru pronounced that many of the politicians vying for parliamentary positions rush to the shrines and conduct sacrifices so that they are successful.

The bishop for Soroti catholic diocese Right Rev Dr. Bishop Joseph Euiru Olicah, has challanged members of Parliament to desist from the habit of witch craft during the election period.
Eciru blew out this message while presiding the Thanks giving mass of the Bukedea Woman Member of Parliament Anita Annet Among who happens to be the speaker of 11th Parliament in Uganda at her home in Ayereyere village in Kamutur sub county, Bukedea district.
The tough speaking Bishop roared before the members of Parliament who attended the event at Anita’s home challenging them to desist from the evil act and follow Godly ways of life.
“My dear Members of Parliament, why do you allow the devil to rule your hear just because you want to stay longer in parliament? Parliament is not the devil’s home, I assure you that you will one day be embarrassed with your evil actions, be reminded that whatever you do in darkness shall be revealed in light”, he said.
The Roman Catholic Bishop called for repentance and reconciliation amongst the members of parliament and all leaders for a fruitful leadership and soft landing after serving the people.
“Some members of Parliament don not even conduct the thanks giving even after God sends them to parliament, the when another election approaches, they come running to church to be prayed for so that the return to parliament”, he added.
The Speaker Anita Among with her husband Eng. Moses Magogo welcoming Bishop Eciru at their home in Bukedea.
Uganda’s former Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi who carefully listened to the gospel applauded the Bishop for being open and bold in his preaching. He also praised the Speaker Among for increasing the public trust in the 11th parliament.
Ssekandi was among the top leaders in the country who convoyed to Bukedea for Anita’s thanks giving as fellow ministers flocked along including Peter Ogwang the State minister for Education in charge sports, Ruth Acieng the health Minister and the Energy Minister Sindronius Okaasai Opolot.
Speaking to the masses, the humbled speaker was so thankful to God for raising her to the current position in leadership.
She further thanked the Bukedea electorates and fellow leaders for backing her in her leadership career.
“I am so delighted to the almighty God, my fellow leaders at their respective capacities and mostly the electorates of Bukedea for investing their trust in me. I vow to do my best of services and stand by you at all circumstance for as long as i am in leadership”, she spoke politely.
The Bukedea woman also praised President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for trusting her and mentoring her in the leadership in the National Resistance Movement Party.
Anita Among climbed to the seat of speakership after the demise of her boss the late Gilbert Olanya Lokori who passed on from the United States where he had been rushed for life saving attempt.
The former deputy speaker was voted in as Olanya’s replacement after a majority of the legislators rallied behind her candidature for the seat.
Althought she been seen dominating the country’s headlines in different controversies, Among faced life threat after putting a stump on the LGBTQ Bill that now makes her the most hated leader by the Western countries especially the United states that later sanctioned her.
Among is expected to meet the Pope in 15th August for the second time after climbing to the seat of speakersip.
