Kaberamaido District, Uganda – St. Thomas Girls’ Secondary School has officially registered 63 Senior Four candidates for the upcoming Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) 2025 examinations. The countdown has begun, with the official briefing scheduled for Friday, October 10, 2025.
Speaking to the candidates, Mr. Raymond Esanyu, the Deputy Director of Studies, encouraged them to confidently apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired over the past four years. “This is your moment to shine. You’ve worked hard, and now is the time to demonstrate what you’ve learned,” he told the students.
Mr. Esanyu also highlighted the school’s impressive performance last year, when all 68 candidates passed in Division One, with the majority earning grades A and B. “We believe this year’s candidates are equally capable, and we expect great results,” he added.
The Headteacher, Mr. Patrick Edyelu, expressed heartfelt gratitude to parents, teachers, and district leaders for their continued support. “With strong leadership and a united community, our students are fully prepared to take on this challenge. They have the resources, guidance, and encouragement needed to excel,” he said.
The entire school management, staff, and the broader community extend their best wishes and support to the candidates as they reach this important milestone in their academic journey.
Mr. Edyelu also made a call to the government to provide additional computers and science equipment, as well as ensure a stable power supply to promote quality learning in rural schools. “St. Thomas Girls’ Secondary School is a government-aided and the only single-girls secondary school in Kaberamaido District. We need enhanced infrastructure to meet the growing demands of science and ICT education,” he emphasized.
Finally, he cautioned candidates against involving themselves in any form of examination malpractice, urging them to rely on their preparation and integrity to succeed.
