In a display of parental heart and transparent leadership, Stephen Ejoku, the dynamic CEO of Ejoku Foundation and an aspiring LCV candidate for Asuret subcounty in Soroti district, has pledged to support the family of Brian Okullo, who tragically lost his life in a recent accident involving a Kakise bus.
During the burial ceremony held in Gweri county, Ejoku expressed deep sympathy for the late Okullo’s family, particularly his three wives and more than 14 children. Among them, Florence Akurut, Okullo’s third wife, found solace in Ejoku’s compassionate gesture.
Ejoku’s commitment to take over Okullo’s education stems from a divine calling, as he had been acquainted with the young man prior to his father’s demise. Okullo’s involvement in a previous accident in Dokolo village, where he sustained serious injuries trying to escape a military helicopter, brought him to Ejoku’s attention. The subsequent successful operation, facilitated by Ejoku’s collaboration with the Military Administration, further cemented his resolve to support Okullo and his family.
Residents of the area, including Florence Akurut, have expressed heartfelt gratitude towards Ejoku for his timely intervention, which not only saved Okullo’s life but also ensured his educational future.
In addition to his philanthropic endeavors, Ejoku has been actively engaging in consultative meetings across Gweri county, identifying grassroots challenges and proposing solutions to improve infrastructure, youth livelihood programs, agriculture, healthcare, sanitation, and more. He firmly believes that such engagement is essential for effective service delivery in the area.
As Easter approaches, Ejoku urges the community to celebrate with harmony, emphasizing the importance of unity and cooperation in fostering a peaceful and prosperous society.
With his blend of empathy, transparency, and visionary leadership, Stephen Ejoku stands poised to make a meaningful impact in Soroti district, both in addressing individual tragedies and in steering the community towards a brighter future.
