The health sector of Orungo county in Amuria district that has been grappling with a lot of challenges is seeing speedy change with the entrance of Teddy Anyuk Osire who has joined to support hospitals in all the sub counties.
Teddy Anyuk Osire the Orungo county aspiring Member of Parliament traversed all the five hospitals in the seven sub counties in the constituency to donate fifteen mattresses each to support the maternity mothers.
The donation comes in handy since it has been the main challenge in various hospitals, a demand that has been among pregnant mothers who enter these hospitals to deliver.
In Orungo constituency, with five hospitals of Olwa Health Center II, Morungatuny Health Center III, Ogolai Health Center III, Orungo Health Center III and Akeriau Health Center II has had women deliver from the flow for quite a long period of time.
According to Anyuk, this significant donation is part of her manifesto, demonstrating to boost the health department that has been completely down in Orungo constituency.
As this signifies a positive change that is polishing Anyuk’s ground ahead of primaries, she adds that it’s a direct example of service delivery enhancing to strengthen all departments away from health.
“My people of Orungo, I have not yet started serving you, the little that I am doing is just to introduce you to service delivery, if this has not been happening in Orungo, get ready to make it a daily routine. I have come to make Orungo a model constituency in the whole Teso region”-Anyuk told people.
She rallied the constituents to make the best use of these beds ensuring that they should not be stolen so that people get benefit from their bed
Anyuk did not forget to rally mothers to vote for her in the next election so that they get to feel more of what she has aligned in the manifesto to transform Orungo.
She met a challenge from LC3 of Morungatuny subcounty Joseph Odeng who highlighted the need to lobby for beds for these mattresses since this now remains to be the strongest challenge.
Odeng said, oftentimes they have tried to lobby support from the ministry of health but their cry has remained unfelt.
“Toto Honorable, I want to thank you so much for this great offer you have brought to the constituency of Orungo, but I want to still request that as you have started with this, we still remain with no bed in our hospitals and if you could still support or bring in influencers (development organs) we would be grateful”-Odeng said.
Meanwhile, Odeng also pledged to take part in monitoring these beds ensuring that they are not misplaced in his subcounty hospital.
Adding on his voice, Anyuk noted that she will be able to boost the health sector of Orungo in a bigger perspective in terms of beds, electricity, improving maternity wards, and improving accommodations of health workers when she gets to parliament.
However, though the health sector is greatly taking shape in Orungo, the access to safe and clean water has tremendously improved evidenced with her borehole rehabilitation project still constituting across subcounties.
At a moment a number of boreholes have been repaired in sub counties of Ogongora, Akeriau, Ogolai, Morungatuny, Orungo, Orungo town council and Olwa.
